The RZV500R was developed as a road-legal replica of the YZR500 factory works bike that ‘King’ Kenny Roberts rode in the 1983 World Championship. Introduced in 1984, the model featured a unique hand-welded aluminium chassis, aluminium handlebars, adjustable front forks with air assistance and a fuel gauge, and thanks to these weight-saving upgrades was nearly 10kg lighter than the ‘standard’ RD/RZ500LC models. This example is finished with a striking red and white livery, featuring multiple manufacturer and model-specific decals, black accents, and a black vinyl-trimmed seat pad.It rides on a staggered pair of freshly powdercoated gold-toned 16-inch front and 18-inch rear twin three-spoke alloy wheels.Equipment includes 37mm air-assisted telescopic front forks, a rear monoshock with spring preload and rebound damping, twin 267mm front brake discs with two-piston callipers, a single 245mm rear discs with two-piston calliper, and a twin-exit exhaust system.

Blemishes and small cracks to the engine plastics, some previous panel touch-ups, a small chip on the pillion cover, the main point that connects the fairing to the frame is cracked on the right and left-hand sides, which has been repaired inside, there is a small dent on the right-hand side of the tank, and a small tear in the seat and pillion pad.
The clips on the handlebars are aftermarket items, and the front fairing has bodywork accessories fitted to both sides, which are believed to be off a TZR250.
